Bringing Structure and Navigation to a Large University Website
Background & Problem Statement
The Problem: Scale Without Structure
Like most university websites, Parul University’s site carries an enormous amount of information, from courses, curriculum, faculty, departments, cultural events, media coverage, to campus life, accommodation and more.
But when we stepped in, the site showed clear usability failures. Content was scattered across pages without a strong hierarchy. Navigation was compromised. Users had to work hard to understand where they were and where to go next.

Starting From the Core: Information Architecture
Our first and most critical task was cleaning up what didn’t serve the purpose of the site anymore and reorganizing what did. This meant revisiting the information architecture from scratch:

Grouping content based on user intent
This was a monumental effort and was a highly collaborative one. The university’s team brought in valuable inputs, which helped refine flows and validate how different sections should connect. Getting the structure right laid the foundation for everything that followed

Given the scale of the website, organizing information and defining consistent page flows was not just a UX task; it was a development-heavy one as well.We introduced a universal design pattern that could work across the site. Where needed, it was adapted but never broken. This brought coherence to a website that previously felt fragmented.

Design Institute Spotlight
Designing a Standalone Presence Within the University Framework
We designed a dedicated page for the University’s Design Institute, intentionally distinct from the rest of the website. It was built to stand out, and it became one of the most remarkable sections of the entire experience.

The design system was created with future growth in mind. The system was not just redesigned, it was prepared to evolve.
Reusable components and templates were designed for WordPress, reducing future design and development effort. Sections like profiles and course details could now be updated internally, without disrupting the overall structure

Giving Students a Clearer Sense of Life Beyond Academics.
We brought forward this as key highlights of the website giving strong emphasis on cultural activities and campus life. Frequent celebrity visits and large-scale events are a defining part of the university’s identity.
